CDC-Social Media Manager

Job Summary 

The Career Development Center (CDC) is seeking a creative and energetic student leader to manage our social media presence and build a strong online community for our student body. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in social media marketing, content creation, and team leadership. You will develop and implement a social media strategy that engages students and promotes the CDC's services and resources.

  • The job will start in mid-March 2025 - shadowing the current CDC social media manager for the remainder of the semester. 
  • You must be able to attend weekly CDC MarCom team meetings on Mondays at 3:00pm.
  • You must be available to work over the Summer (remotely) and continue in the role through the next academic year (Fall 2025-Spring 2026).
  • Sophomore or Junior preferred

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for the CDC across Instagram and TikTok.
  • Create engaging and informative content that highlights the CDC's services, events, workshops, and resources.
  • Manage the CDC MarCom team and provide guidance at weekly meetings to hit deadlines.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends and best practices for each platform.
  • Schedule and post content consistently across all platforms.
  • Analyze social media data and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the CDC team on overall marketing strategy and messaging.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Ability to create, edit and post video content
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to engage with student population on campus.
  • Creative thinking and ability to develop engaging content formats (text, images, videos).
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Gain hands-on experience in developing and implementing a social media strategy.
  • Refine content creation skills for various social media platforms.
  • Develop leadership skills through managing a student assistant.
  • Learn how to analyze social media data and use insights to improve strategy

Additional Requirements

  • This position is paid $10.00 per hour, with an estimate of 3 hours weekly.
