AMPLIFY-Marketing Program Intern-Regional Engagement Center (REC)

Job Description:

The Marketing Program Assistant will assist REC Staff in planning and marketing all of REC related events/programs.  Interns will get hands-on experience with marketing, communications, engaging the community, and getting in-depth insight into the operations of a non-profit organization. This role is primarily responsible for curating, creating/editing content, and writing posts on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. In addition, you will be tasked with maintaining a social media calendar. The intern will raise awareness of our organization and its mission in the region, allowing us to serve even more members of the community.

Expectations:

-Create and manage promotional materials for events
-Create and manage social media posts across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok) 
-Assist and support the planning and coordination of community outreach activities 
-Monitor and track the reach of marketing campaigns and initiatives using surveys and other data tracking methods
-Provide general administrative support as needed 
-Assist with Drop-In program supervision and facilitation as needed

- Enhance Brand Awareness: Develop marketing materials that effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact. Increase website traffic
We hope to achieve measurable increases in social media engagement, and total community engagement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Detail oriented; Strong organizational skills; strong communication skills; flexibility and adaptability; proficient at Microsoft Office; displays initiative; ability to work independently and as a part of team.

-Strong interest in service and community engagement.

-The person in this position should be actively engaged on all major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok. 

Preferred Qualifications:

-While not required, students studying Marketing, Communications, or Business Management may fit better for the role than other majors. However, we encourage all interested to apply for the role.
-Other Requirements- Flexible availability, able to work weekends if needed

Additional Information:

-This position pays $11.00 per hour with an estimate of 8 hours per day.

-This position is part of a new donor-funded internship program, Amplify, administered through the Career Development Center aimed at providing internships through local non-profit and public service organizations. To learn more please contact Jed Carr at carrjedidiah@susqu.edu

The Selinsgrove Regional Engagement Center's mission is to inspire ideas, enrich lives, and engage all generations in educational, recreational, and charitable activities. Our vision is to creatively, compassionately, and collectively strive to make the Eastern Snyder county and its surrounding communities an even better place to live, learn, and serve. We provide inter-generational programs to the community, offering an adult exercise class Monday through Friday that accommodates our senior members of the community, we provide an after-school Drop-In program that welcomes students, grades 3-12, to participate in a variety of educational and recreational clubs and activities from 3 P.M to 6 P.M,
Monday through Friday. We also offer a number of community events throughout the year, including but not limited to Cornhole tournaments, Trivia Nights, Teen Nights, and family movie nights.
